Co-branded version of Opera Mini launched for Idea Customers



Idea Cellular and Opera Software have  signed a deal to offer a customized Opera Mini mobile web browser to Idea subscribers across India. This would let the Idea users to browse the Internet better and faster, and it also comes with customized Speed Dial shortcuts for easy access to unique Idea features.
The Opera Mini compresses the data by up to 90% so that you can save time and money. It also has auto complete for address inputs, page sharing and lots of useful features. India is already one of the largest countries for Opera Mini usage globally, and an important region for the rapid expansion for Opera Mini. Opera Mini helps drive data traffic, increases ARPU and provides the best user experience on any phone.
Idea customers will be able to download this co-branded version of Opera Mini on their devices from the end of March 2012 that would support most of the internet enabled handsets.

BlackBerry London smartphone with BlackBerry 10 image surfaces



New image of the BlackBerry 10 smartphone code-named London has surfaced. According to Crackberry, this is called Superphone. RIM’s 2012 roadmap leaked last week that showed that the first BlackBerry 10 smartphone might be pushed from Q3 to October 2012 . This new phone is a lot different from the dummy model of the London that surfaced last November and looks like a scaled down version of the BlackBerry PlayBook.
RIM is said to be testing the device with TI OMAP5 and Qualcomm chipsets with 1.5GHz dual core processors. This device might head to UK code-named London and would arrive in the US as Laguna and Lisbon.
Let’s wait till MWC 2012 next month for RIM to show off this new BlackBerry 10 device and other devices.

Airtel offers manual GPRS settings for Non-OTA devices



Airtel has offered Manual Mobile Office Setting instructions for Non-OTA devices after they received complaints about problem in GPRS settings on certain devices. Since the automatic GPRS settings doesn’t work on some devices, these instructions would help the customers to set manual settings for the these devices.

Valve makes it official, removes the beta tag from Steam for Android


It has been many days since the Stem application for Android was in beta. Many people including me got the invite to join in and test it out, the application was quite stable though there were a few bugs while chatting and sometimes lagging on my Galaxy Nexus but now Valve has announced that Steam app for Android is available for everyone to use.
Currently you need to have a steam account to log in, if you have never used steam before on your desktop then you can sign up for it from the phone itself. This will be a great application for all the gamers and Valve fans. With this application you can chat with your steam friends, view the various communities and profiles, go through the gaming news, etc.

HTC Ville shows up on video running Sense 4.0 on ICS


The rumor of HTC Ville has been around from about two to three months now and we had also written about it last week saying that it will be launching at MWC this year, well we have got more details about this device that it will be running Sense 4.0 on top of Android 4.0 and a video of the same has also surfaced which shows the device and it’s features, read on to know more about it.

LG set to unveil first triple SIM handset next month


Dual SIM phones have been quite popular in emerging markets and among users requiring the use of two numbers on a single handset but triple SIM phones haven’t found much of a market yet. Marketed by a few Chinese manufacturers , we’ve yet to see large scale adoption of the tech by the larger OEMs.
This is set to change as LG unveils its first triple SIM handset next month. The specs include a 2.2-inch display with a resolution of 176×220 pixels, a 1.3-megapixel camera with flashlight, and a 1500 mAh battery. It remains to be seen if the phone can actually use all SIM cards at the same time. The phone will be available in Russia starting February for approximately €75.

Airtel has launched Name Tunes,  personalized Hello Tune service that enables you to personalize your caller tune with your own name. Airtel mobile customers can stamp their caller tune with their own identity by following a simple process that allows them to search and set their name as their Hello Tune.
You need to SMS NT to 543215 (TollFree), and search results of names would be presented with 4,500+ common Indian first names (expected to expand further on a daily basis depending upon customer usage). User can choose from the list of names and set the same as Hello Tune instantaneously.
The Name Tunes service costs Rs. 30 for Hello Tunes subscription and Rs. 15 for 90 days for song download.
